Trinity United Methodist Church Partners with Artist to Build Community in Support of Cross-racial Healing

One of Denver's most historic churches is working to build a more inclusive future through intentional allyship and the Arts.

Three months ago, Trinity United Methodist Church (TUMC) partnered with visual artist Chloe' Duplessis through her Creative Community Builder Program.

About the Unveiling
The public is invited to join TUMC and friends for the official artwork unveiling on Monday, April 12 at 6:30 pm LIVE on the Trinity United Methodist Church Facebook page.

About the Program
Launched in January of this year, the innovative arts program offers businesses and organizations the opportunity to expand their cultural capacity and build community through an immersive arts experience. The collaboration culminates with the unveiling of an original piece of artwork inspired by the authentic feedback of Program participants after viewing Duplessis' latest art exhibition, Negro Stories.

About the Art
Negro Stories examines the concepts of collective trauma and healing through the lens of racial discrimination. The art exhibition opened in January at Converge Denver in the RiNo Art Direct and has garnered widespread acclaim. Creator Chloe' Duplessis has been featured on Colorado Public Radio, in 303 Magazine and Mayor Michael B. Hancock even declared February 1 as Negro Stories Art Exhibition Day in the city of Denver.
