Disabled people make up the largest, most expansive minoritized group, crossing lines of age, ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status.

For next year's disability pride month (July 2023), we’re excited to announce the open call exhibition Unfettered Recognition to celebrate how disabled folks are integral to all communities. We are looking for artists who express disability as an identity. The show will focus on disabled communities surrounding the Boulder and Colorado areas.

Please submit 2 to 5 images of recent work and a few sentences describing how your work and/or practice relates to themes of disability, physicality or intersectionality. Two-dimensional, 3-dimensional and digital work will be considered. Please note that space for 3-dimensional work is limited due to space constraints.

The deadline to submit work is November 30th and applicants will be notified by March 1st. SUBMISSION FORM

If accepted, artists are responsible for the drop-off and pick up of their artwork. Exhibiting artists will need to drop off work on June 30th and July 1st between 10AM and 4PM and pick up work on August 10th and 11th between 10AM and 4PM.

There is no entrance fee for this call.

Exhibit dates are July 7-August 18, 2023.

The location of the exhibit is 4550 Broadway, STE C-3B2, Boulder, Colorado
