Just in Time for the Big Race, Getting to RiNo Just Got Easier!

The new pedestrian bridge that crosses the railroad tracks to connect Blake Street and Wazee Street between 35th and 36th Streets is now open. The bridge provides better and safer pedestrian access to RTD’s East Rail Line station at 38th and Blake, as well as to adjacent communities, and this weekend’s Colorado Classic race and Velorama music festival!

The new pedestrian bridge is one of three projects that recently transformed a quarter-mile stretch of Blake Street to enhance mobility for area residents and transit riders. In addition to the new pedestrian bridge, Denver added sidewalks in the area and made improvements to the Blake Street Bridge over 38th, flattening the hump, so drivers can more easily see people on foot and on bikes.

These projects demonstrate the City’s ongoing commitment to providing transportation options and infrastructure improvements to help people get around the city, whether they walk, bike, drive or use transit and Mayor Hancock’s new Mobility Action Plan, supporting the transportation choices people want to make.
