Pulse Visual Art presents “A Juxtaposition”, an exhibition featuring painter, sewist, and mark-maker Kayla Chalk, along with ceramic and metal artist Kris Fritzsche. The show is on view September 5 – October 24, 2025, at the Camden RiNo leasing office at 3235 Larimer Street and in the Unit 123 gallery off Walnut St. The show features their individual works as well as collaborative pieces that explore the ways in which their differing practices collide. It is a conversation in contrasts between form and fluidity, weight and levity, containment and expression. The public is invited to view and shop, Tues - Sat 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and during the following special events, where they can visit with the artists.

Opening Reception: During RiNo’s First Friday Art Walk, Sept 5, 6 - 9 p.m.
Coffee Talk with Artists: Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Open for First Friday Art Walk: October 3, 6 - 9 p.m.

This exhibition grew from years of co-working in their shared studio and teaching alongside one another. They began experimenting more intentionally with collaboration, offering each other unfinished pieces, sharing surfaces, and allowing their processes to intersect.

The resulting collaborative pieces highlight something often overlooked in contemporary art: how two distinct creative voices can coexist without losing their individuality. The work is full of contrast—soft and hard, fluid and structured, ephemeral and grounded—but those contrasts don’t compete. Instead, they create a dynamic exchange that feels alive and surprising. The show invites the viewer to witness that exchange, to stand in the space between two different ways of seeing and making.
