New contemporary Art Gallery is seeking professional artists to participate in a new retail gallery business model in the River North Art District RiNo on Upper Larimer in Denver’s hottest neighborhood.
Applications accepted on a rolling basis
The concept behind the new model is a variation of the trend of “shared space” in other industries - identifying itself as a hybrid of traditional commercial gallery representation with a sense of community or mutual support artists look for in a cooperative gallery built in. The gallery controls the management, curation, marketing, hours, staffing, sales, and events Exhibiting Artists are vetted for flexibility to work with the gallery, commercial clients and custom residential clients as part of the gallery’s developing art consulting practice. The “shared space” approach reduces the risk that some works may or may not sell to support the gallery’s continued success.
The model provides an alternative to a traditional gallery contracts limiting artists practices - and in exchange for the “shared space” commitment instead provides: a low commission of 20% - artists are asked to voluntarily communicate with the gallery on best practices, social media marketing, invites and to responsibly support the gallery and fellow exhibitors’ success - fair and ethical approaches and the success of artists through sustainable business practices and developing new opportunities for artists are the mission of the gallery.
