The Big Picture Colorado invites photographers and photo-based artists to submit work for its biennial public art project, which transforms walls and outdoor spaces into open-air photography galleries using large-scale wheat-pasted prints. Selected works will be exhibited in Denver, Boulder, and participating cities around the world. Black-and-white and monotone photography is preferred, but color and photo-based multimedia—including collage, alternative processes, and digital renderings—are also welcome. Disclose if work is AI-generated.
Timeline:
- Submission deadline: February 15, 2027
- Opening: March 14, 2027
- Project duration: Through March 2029
- Notification: Within 30 days of submission
Application Fee: $25 per five images. Artists may submit additional sets of five images for $25 each.
How to Apply: Email JPG images approximately 1,000 pixels in size to Bigpicturecolorado@gmail.com. Label each file with your first and last name, image title, year, hometown and state, and Instagram handle. Include links to your website and social media accounts; an artist statement is optional. Submit payment via PayPal or Venmo at @Mark-Sink-1.
