We are thrilled to welcome pianist David Mesquitic back to the Nocturne stage, leading a phenomenal trio for a wonderful, swinging night of music. Even in the relatively short time he's spent in the northern Colorado scene, Mesquitic has quickly become a favorite at Nocturne, playing classic jazz with a dynamic, informed musical sensibility. For this one-off show, David will be joined by other Denver favorites Seth Lewis (bass) and Bobby Weins (drums).

Award winning pianist David Mesquitic is a composer and educator committed to the intergenerational transfer of the knowledge, history, and traditions of jazz. Mesquitic currently teaches at Colorado State University (CSU) and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).

Mesquitic holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded the 2022 Eleanor Alexander Stripling Award for Excellence in Jazz Studies. Mesquitic’s artistry has also been recognized as a receipt of the 2024 United States Air Force Band Diversity Fellowship.
