Writer, scholar, educator, and diviner Christopher Marmolejo explores divination as a choral, sonic medium that brings the diviner into conversation with images, texts, ancestors, elements, time, and the unknown. The discussion examines decolonial divination, or a “red read,” as a way of understanding our relationship to the world through speculative connections and alternative forms of knowledge.

Marmolejo is the author of Red Tarot: A Decolonial Guide to Divinatory Literacy, which approaches tarot as a form of critical literacy through decolonial and queer perspectives. Their work explores decolonization, indigeneity, queerness, and consciousness through divination.

Presented by Educating the Whole Human, a University Libraries speaker series at CU Boulder, with funding from Impact Grants. Admission is free, and the first 10 in-person attendees will receive a free copy of Marmolejo’s book.
