El Pueblo Cuida al Pueblo — “The People Take Care of the People” — brings together a local resource fair and live monologue performance focused on resilience, collective care, and shared stories. Attendees can connect with local nonprofits, access community resources, and hear stories reflecting the experiences of immigrant communities.
Motus Theater’s Cristian Solano-Córdova will perform ImmigrantAmerica: The Meaning of Courage, reflecting on his mixed-status family’s experience with the fear of separation following the 2016 election and his childhood journey across the border. The performance considers courage, family, and the choices people make in the face of fear.
The event coincides with Rough Gems’ In the Shadows, curated by Itau Ramos Hernandez and on view at Union Hall August 20–October 3.
