Simbiotica presents new photographic work by Jason DeMarte, exploring the relationship between the natural world and consumer culture. Through elaborate, digitally assembled ecosystems, DeMarte combines lush vegetation, colorful confections, rural architecture, and industrial infrastructure to imagine landscapes where nature and manufactured excess coexist.

Drawing on the visual language of commercial photography, DeMarte constructs highly detailed, fictional environments that question how consumption and industry shape our understanding of nature. The resulting images blur the boundaries between the organic and artificial, suggesting an ecosystem in which the aesthetics of consumer culture have become intertwined with the natural world.

The exhibition is presented by RULE Gallery as part of its Satellite program at York Street Yards.
