This is a solo performance about growing up landlocked and desperately wanting to be a mermaid. It draws from childhood memories of watching “mermaid spell” videos and truly believing one might work. The show follows a lonely lighthouse man who asks the audience to help find a mermaid, joined by some puppet companions.

Blending clowning, experimental theatre, puppetry, comedy, and drag, the piece moves from playful nostalgia into heightened drag that explores both hyper-femininity and masculinity. The show invites light audience participation and lives in a space of camp, longing, and transformation/self-reflection, asking what happens when childhood fantasies don’t disappear, but why we need fantasy and whimsicalness with us as we grow up.
