Celebrate Latin Heritage Month with a hands-on workshop inspired by the vibrant, fantastical world of Mexican alebrijes. Instructor Angelina “Angie” Rubalcava will guide participants through foundational clay handbuilding techniques to sculpt and detail their own mythical creatures inspired by the folk art popularized by Oaxacan artisans and Pedro Linares.
Enjoy an intimate live musical performance by Mexican singer-songwriter Verena as you create. The workshop is taught in English and Spanish, and no pottery experience is necessary. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired by the studio and ready for pickup in a few weeks.
