UPCOMING DATE AND TIME:

  • Fri, Sep 5, 2025 - Sat, Nov 1, 2025

September First Friday will bring a special local artist, Dr. George Rivera, to fooLPRoof contemporary art gallery. The exhibition MUTATIONS will feature his ink drawings inspired by taking the Artnauts work in a journey down the Amazon River Valley to several galleries & remote villages. Not able to bring indigenous plant material back and inspired by the primordial nature of trip he made inks from the indigenous plant materials while there. On return he began fervently creating this body of work responding to his subconscious thoughts relating to the Amazon Rainforest.

This exhibition is - A not to be missed presentation of a local art legend.

His work is presented with sculptures also of a primordial nature by University or South Dakota at Vermillion Sculpture Associate Professor Christopher Meyer's cast iron log series HOW SOON WE FORGET. A fellow metal caster to gallery artists and the gallery director, this body of work is both process and performance driven. This body of work showcases the diversity of process and thought embodied in contemporary cast iron.

Together, both bodies of work personify an unwavering commitment to visual practice unifying the exhibition space into a comingling of a reflection of nature, our lives and hand within it, its fragility and tenacity.

An exhibition not to be missed.
