CATEGORIES: Art Events | First Fridays

UPCOMING DATE AND TIME:

  • Friday, Jun 5, 2026  6pm - 8pm

Join Visions West Contemporary for the opening reception of Mountain Standard Time, a summer group exhibition exploring contemporary perspectives on the American West.

Bringing together artists including Epiphany Couch and Tim Rickett, Mountain Standard Time examines how the mythology of the West continues to shape culture—and how artists today are challenging, reframing, and expanding those narratives. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the exhibition explores the tension between history and lived experience, land and ownership, myth and reality.

From Indigenous sovereignty and ecological reciprocity to pop culture satire and sharp critiques of the “Hollywood West,” the work on view offers a thoughtful and often playful look at the stories we inherit and the ones we choose to tell.

Celebrate opening night with the artists and community, explore the exhibition, and experience a fresh perspective on the past and present of the West.

Opening Reception: Friday, June 5, 2026 | 6–8 PM
Exhibition on view: June 5 – August 30, 2026
