The exhibition themes Sacred Reflections (Youth Art Mentoring students) and Pieces of the Whole (EPIC Arts students) center identity, voice, and collective belonging. These themes invite young artists to explore what matters most to them, individually and together, while recognizing their power to shape their communities.
At a time when many feel pressured to shrink or conceal parts of who they are, this work insists on the opposite: to know oneself fully and to be seen. Through reflection and creation, students are encouraged to embrace their identities, honor their intersections, and stand rooted in self-awareness.
This knowing becomes a form of power; one that fosters pride, builds connection, and quietly resists erasure. In doing so, the exhibition calls us to recognize and appreciate the uniqueness each person brings, and the many ways we choose to express and represent who we are.
