Join Reverend Alba Onofrio, also known as Rev. Sex, for a community conversation about Spiritual Violence: Religious Phenomena that Defile the Faith. The discussion explores how religious harm and white Christian supremacy affect LGBTQIA+ people and communities, and how people can reclaim faith, nurture healing, and work toward queer liberation.

Co-authored by Alba Onofrio, Nadia Arellano, and Judith Bautista Fajardo, Spiritual Violence draws on queer feminism, theology, and cultural studies to examine religious abuse and spiritual trauma through historical context, real-world examples, and reflective practices. The event includes a book talk, audience Q&A, and book signing.

Onofrio is a queer, feminist Christian pastor and public theologian with more than 20 years of human rights experience in the United States, Latin America, and East Africa. They serve as a Global Presbyter for The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries.

The event is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase books, as availability at the event is not guaranteed.
