Nocturne in partnership with Denver Jazz Fest presents: Herb’s and Vices, an ensemble born from the vibrant spirit of Denver’s iconic jazz club, Herb’s Hideout and owner Laura Newman. This group blends jazz standards, original compositions, and unique arrangements with an unmistakable energy. Featuring the masterful Vlad Girshevich on organ and saxophonist Rico Jones, the band celebrates a deep mentorship legacy, as Vlad and guitarist Marcus Firillo played pivotal roles in shaping Rico and drummer Aleks Girshevich as musicians. With members who have worked alongside jazz greats like Roy Haynes, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Gomez, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Bobby Watson, and Philip Harper, this ensemble delivers an unforgettable night of world-class musicianship and camaraderie.
