MATRIARCH — an art show — Nov 7 thru Dec 21

Celebrated artist and culture bearer Chloé Duplessis will present her latest collection of work in Aurora next month. MATRIARCH will feature fifteen original collage works on canvas inspired by the extraordinary courage, capacity, and contributions of Black women. The exhibit will also highlight lesser-known aspects of the Black female experience.

"Black women are the foundation of society and should be celebrated as such," says Duplessis. "This show is a celebration of Black women and our experiences. It is a tribute to the ancestors and a gift to all of the women that lived, toiled, and transitioned so that we all could be."

Photographs, text, and images of cultural artifacts were used to create each work of art over a 9 month period. MATRIARCH opens on November 7 and runs through December 21 at noted gallery and boutique Matriarch Mercantile, located in The Stanley Marketplace (2501 Dallas Street Unit #262, Aurora, CO 80010).
