Caller
CALLER (aka Charlie Apple, b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Butte, Montana. Working at the intersection of street art, abstraction, and media technology, CALLER blends acrylic, paint pen, airbrush, code, and augmented reality to create immersive, multi-sensory works. His practice moves fluidly between analog and digital realms, from graffiti juxtaposed with the rural West to algorithmically generated visuals projected onto the walls of abandoned buildings.
Born in Rhode Island and raised in Montana, CALLER was shaped early by frequent visits to the Art Institute of Chicago and a childhood obsession with a Jackson Pollock documentary on VHS. He later earned a Master’s degree in Media Arts, deepening his exploration of image, movement, and coded systems. His alias references the figure of a western dance caller—someone who commands rhythm and chaos with voice alone—a metaphor that echoes throughout his dynamic, directive visual language.
Skela
My name is Skela and I Skelarize everything from your mind to your walls. I have developed my own allegorical mythology to share realities and magic from our worlds. Along with bold colors and mixed with my unique and whimsical style, I strive to be an artivist with a dash of humor. Growing up in France and Malawi and having lived all over, I believe to be from nowhere and everywhere hence my love for the one common ingredient on the planet: nature. Through the creation of characters, along with storytelling, I wish to seduce you into activism and transmit some enchantment into your galactic soul.
I studied fine arts at Ringling College of Art and Design, and graduated in 2006 after which I returned to Europe pursuing my art in new ways such as street art. In 2010 I moved to San Francisco CA, where I became the head scenic artist for an event production company. I eventually moved around again a few times and ended up in New Orleans LA, where before becoming a full time artist, I managed an art gallery. I currently reside as of recently in Denver CO.
Abstract Tales is about modern ways of storytelling through shapes and design whether illustrative or abstract. It features on my part, works done in the last 2 years up until now. Including a few pieces for my last 2 solo shows in New Orleans and Chicago.
