Plinth Gallery presents Geologic Time, a solo exhibition of new sculpture by Aaron Sturtz. The opening reception offers the first opportunity to see a focused group of carved ceramic works shaped by the artist's experiences climbing and canyoneering throughout the American West.

Sturtz's sculptures translate the forms and processes of the landscape into clay, exploring ideas of compression and expansion, erosion and accumulation, movement and repetition. Built, carved, and fired until the material darkens, hardens, and cracks, the works draw connections between geological processes and the rhythms of music, calligraphy, and movement.
