ABOUT
In Danger of Blooming is a collaborative Month of Photography exhibition featuring Denver-based photo artists Risa Friedman, Savanna Klear, and Cam Margera. In preparation for the show, the three photographers explored the messiness that often occurs during times of artistic and personal growth. The end result is an exhibition that combines traditional photography displays along with an explosion of interactive and immersive installation work - all incorporating flowers and plants, both caught on camera and real life blooms. Opening reception on Friday, March 7th 6 - 10 PM will include free Instax photos courtesy of sponsor Frankinstax.

Risa
Risa Friedman is a multidisciplinary artist, with a focus on photography, paper arts, and installation. Her work celebrates the beauty of place with an emphasis on people-made details, blocks of color, and the human form as art object. She grew up in suburban New York, but draws much of her inspiration from living in cities and watching them change—New York, Brighton (UK), Quito (Ecuador), and currently Denver. While still a fan of urban environments, Risa’s travels through the rural west led to a new passion for small town America. Her background and career in the social sciences (sociology and public health) also inform her approach to art. One of her favorite parts of her process is people: she loves collaborating with other artists and meeting people who live and work in the spaces she photographs.

Savanna
Savanna Klear (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist currently residing and creating in Denver, CO. As an analog photographer & botanical artist, their work focuses on the unexpected spaces that exist between the natural and the man-made world. Using organic materials to create still life compositions and site-specific sculptures/installations, Savanna places importance on ordinary things to showcase the profound beauty in the mundane. Capturing and documenting everything with various forms of analog photography, Savanna’s work invites viewers to pause, appreciate the simple pleasures, and find a shared sense of vulnerability and introspection. Combining their love for floral design and the visual arts, Savanna aims to create a space that feels connected to the natural world around us.

Cam
Cam Margera - photographer/videographer and musician - was born in Syracuse, NY, educated at CSU Fort Collins, and now resides in Denver's Curtis Park District. The songwriter- turned-camera operator covers a ton of ground while supplying the city with memorable moments via photos and detailed cinematography. In the span of five years, he has worked his way into the art conversation, while uncovering his knack for floral arrangements along the way. London, Bristol, and Mexico City make up the international locations that Cam has used to sharpen his street-style. Namely California, New Hampshire, Florida, New Orleans, and Hawaii are a few of the stateside spots that he has captured. Humbly, Cam is forever a student. Clients include muralists, business improvement districts, fashion and social media influencers, food and beverage venue owners, and all types of artists that require high-quality coverage of their special projects - all know Cam on the cam.
