Friend of a Friend presents One Small Instrument, an exhibition running from March 28 through April 26, 2026, featuring works by Tania Colette B., Camille Garcia, Paloma Jimenez, Lucas T. McMahon, Cidney Owen, Cornelia Peterson, Markus Puskar, and Walter Ware.

The show brings together pieces that explore the labor, ritual, and transformative potential of tools and objects, where human action and intention become part of the work itself. Colette examines labor and resistance through prints on salvaged bricks, while Garcia handcrafts enameled spoons that blend beauty and utility. Jimenez reconfigures everyday objects to reveal hidden poetry, and McMahon’s glass amulets evoke spiritual and mystical energies. Owen combines fantasy, material, and poetry to reimagine work and play, while Peterson transforms utensils into delicate, functional sculptures that challenge traditional use. Puskar’s ink drawings merge rationality and spirituality, and Ware reclaims metal to forge ritualistic objects that carry history and resilience. Each artist investigates how objects carry power, intention, and narrative, creating a collective meditation on function, labor, and the human body as instrument.
