Join us for a 4 part projection mapping workshop series with DSDI in partnership with RiNo Art District! Learn creative technologyl while having fun and making new connections within the arts community! The workshops will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from March to May culminating into a June 5th First Friday showcase in RiNo Art District to exhibit what you have learned. We will be working with Touch Designer software as it is free and we encourage everyone to bring their own laptop.

Space is limited and will be a first come first serve. In order to participate in the June 5th First Friday showcase one must attend the 1st session and at least one other workshop. If there is a concern of too many participants priority will be given to those who attended all 3.

Schedule:

Workshop 1: Mapping the Basics
Wednesday March 20th, 2024 at DSDI
5:30PM - workshop will start at 6PM
Learn the basics of projection mapping in Touch Designer and other general info to consider when projection mapping in public spaces.

Workshop 2: Object-ive Mapping
Wednesday April 17th, 2024 at DSDI
5:30PM - workshop will start at 6PM
Expand your skills by mapping on more complex objects. Everyone is encouraged to bring something that speaks to them.

Workshop 3: Bringing Artwork to Life
Wednesday May 15th, 2024 at DSDI
5:30PM - workshop will start at 6PM
Practice collaboration by mapping paintings and other 2D artworks in preparation for mapping murals in RiNo.

Final Event: First Friday Mural Projections in RiNo
Friday June 7th, 2024 in the RiNo Art District TBA
7-9PM: set-up & participants mapping
9PM-12AM: Exhibition
Showcase what you've learned to a broader audience during First Friday.
