ABOUT

Sergio Noe Perez-Reyes creates self-portraits and cultural artifacts that serve as a living archive that reflect his everyday life. Working in an array of media, Perez-Reyes’s paintings, sculptures, video games, and clothes blend ordinary moments into profound narratives and totems of nostalgia. In his ceramic works Victory Lap and Chapulin Colorado, the artist inserts himself into childhood memories of WWE and the superhero Chapulin Colorado from the popular Mexican television show of the same name. Other works like his ceramic boots capture the artist’s dialogue of personal experience and external environment. Perez-Reyes’s work cultivates his own past and present, recording the evolution of his identity and interests. In doing so, his body of work preserves fleeting moments, immortalizing them as objects that intersect personal memory and cultural history.

Sergio Noe Perez-Reyes is a multidisciplinary artist born in Chihuahua, Mexico and based in Denver, Colorado. His work documents everyday life through ceramic sculpture, paintings, and clothing. His work has been exhibited nationwide.
