Brighton Blvd local business highlight
Brighton Boulevard construction is under way! Business access will be maintained on both sides of the road so each month we will be highlighting some of the local businesses on Brighton Blvd.
November feature: Visual Interest, a Colorado lighting manufacturer's representative and collaborators on the 38th St Underpass lighting project. Because of their location in RiNo and close proximity to the underpass project, Visual Interest was asked to get involved early on. Lauren Necko was asked to sit on the selection committee for the artists and got to witness Knomad Colab create a masterpiece of an idea. As a manufacturer’s lighting representative, Visual Interest plays the part of the resource that connects the web of the idea, lighting design, and fixtures (in this case, Philips Color Kinetics Color changing LEDs). Scott Hill, principal at Visual Interest, and Ann Vigil collaborated with Katy and Zac of Knomad to make sure their concept provided sufficient light to the underpass by calculating photometrics, while keeping the balance of technical measurements and aesthetics. Once the design was finalized, they helped bring it to fruition by working with the other players on the project that order, deliver and install.
Visual Interest also has a gallery in the front office space and supports local artists by showing their work and participating in First Friday art walks. While Brighton Blvd is still under construction on the east side, they have paused opening their doors for First Fridays but look forward to opening back up again in the spring!
Keep up-to-date on the construction by visiting our Alerts page. And don't forget the Free Drink RiNo shuttle runs on the First Friday of the month from 5pm–12am and Saturdays from 2–10pm!
