Elizabeth Faraci is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Denver, Colorado. Her conceptual photography collection, 'Nothing Is Special' is a series of large-scale, macro works celebrating the complexity, charm and quiet beauty of what is often overlooked at our feet. Select photos from this series have been painted to reflect how, like plants, people continually go through phases of dormancy and reinvention. The series suggests an optimistic, unifying perspective as an alternative to the current tendency towards polarities. Her paintings follow suit, capturing unassuming, but often defining moments, and are characterized by dreamlike color and lighting. For these, Elizabeth paints mostly with her fingers and pieces of thread in dim light, and as a result, her work reveals hidden tones, hues and personalities. She also explores printmaking, use of non-traditional materials, and art installations to help drive her concepts.
