Marcus "Shmoody" Moody's pursues and creates revenue-generating opportunities for artists and arts infrastructure. "Shmoody" is the youngest Black man to ever bring his own orchestra to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The University of Maryland Hip-Hop Orchestra (HHO) he founded opened for T-Pain and Lil Dicky at the 19,000-seat XFINITY Center and were voted into AFROPUNK's Battle of the Bands semi-finals before breaking attendance records at the Kennedy Center, National Arboretum, and Smithsonian's National Postal Museum. Shmoody is mentioned in The Washington Post and featured in over a dozen other publications for his music direction and creative contributions to Hip-Hop culture and community, reaching close to galvanizing $60,000 in support of 100+ artists across the country.
