Percy Cardona will have his first art exhibition in Denver, titled “Lucent Passage,” at the Globeville Riverfront Gallery at GRACe. This collection of current work reflects his first venture into artistic exploration in Colorado. His work demonstrates his unique artistic perspective in sculptural assemblages and drawing. While he utilizes repurposed elements, they are merely points of departure. In the drawings, he shifts from the biomorphic forms reflected in his earlier work to rectilinear drawings radiating beyond the borders of the page. His sculptures are abstract forms in a variety of formats, including freestanding and wall pieces. They include pieces that are composed of large, reflective diagonal elements, as well as those that are spatial pieces utilizing delicate, linear elements.

Percy Cardona began his artistic career in the East Coast, working as an artist in residence at the Bronx River Art Center in New York City. He earned his MFA from Hunter College.

An opening reception for “Lucent Passage” will be held on First Friday, February 7 from 6–9pm.
