Up Front!

Gaia Orr
My Cup Runneth Over the Edge

My Cup Runneth Over the Edge is a body of work celebrating a reflection of the past and the triumph of ending a negative cycle and beginning a new chapter. Using elements of realism to suggest the denotative properties and connotative meanings within a champagne toast, the artist’s self-reflections add meaning throughout. The conclusion of this series has become a metaphorical toast towards the exploration of self and the past. Cheers!

Denver-based artist Gaia Orr is a recent graduate from MSU Denver. Since 2013 she has been building a portfolio of work exploring her own of perception of her gender. She has a background in film photography, collage, and zine production. Gaia makes her sculptural debut this June at Dateline Gallery.

In the Project Room...

Miriam Dubinsky
Zoom! Shift!

Zoom! Shift! is a sugar filled landscape in space exploring the use of electro pop candy color, home to a team of tigers. Miriam uses this loose narrative to investigate the varying weights and transparencies of watercolor, ink and collage in a series of new works on paper.

A corresponding limited edition artist book will be released as part of the exhibition.

Miriam Dubinsky is an artist currently living in Denver. She was born in South Dakota and raised in San Francisco. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Miriam asks is it possible to paint a color and other assorted questions in tackling her current body of rainbow bright electro pop art works. Miriam works mostly in printmaking and illustration and is in the throws of self publishing her first set of solo original screen printed books.
