Who's ready to learn new skills? Or refresh some skills you haven't used in a while? Make fabric collage art while learning how to applique, then practice playing with the free motion quilting foot to add texture to your creation!

Get ready to drop those feed dogs and try your hand at free-motion quilting! You'll also have the opportunity to create collage work using the applique technique. We'll play with these techniques using different designs and hopefully laugh our way into new creative territory.

Just be ready to play! You'll make mistakes, but it will be fun. There just is no replacement for the mechanics of muscle memory. I can't wait to see you grow your skills and apply them to your quilting repetoire.

The first time I did the applique process I remembered the joy of cutting things out with my scissors. It was a simple pleasure that made me giggle. You'll spend time creating your piece, placing your cutouts here, there, move them around, and then experience that AHA! moment where you'll iron them down to stay. And then! you'll create a quilt sandwich to practice using a free motion quilting foot to quilt designs that will add texture to your piece.

You'll leave with a 10-inch by 10-inch square of your own personal collage. All materials provided. Just bring yourself!

Of course, you are invited to bring your machine (with all its respective components for free motion quilting) if you wish, but I'll have some machines and components here ready for you to go.
