Join the Japanese Arts Network and partners for a YŌKAI PARTY - a celebration of Japanese culture benefiting ZOTTO, an immersive, supernatural Japanese folktale experience opening in Denver's Sakura Square this November.
Yōkai are spirits that abound in Japanese folklore. We will meet a handful of these spirits, hear their stories (and the stories of the people who have crossed their paths...), and enjoy refreshments connected to Japanese folklore!
The event will include:
- Story-sharing by professional storytellers
- Remounting of the "Stories of Solidarity" exhibition, showcasing cross-cultural histories from the Five Points neighborhood
- Silent auction of original artwork by Japanese artists (online & in-person)
- DJ and live music
- Create-a-Yoōkai activity & costume contest
- Light refreshments (food and drink)
- ...and a special presale for tickets to ZOTTO!
This event is geared toward attendees ages 12 and up.
