Visions West Contemporary is pleased to announce, Mountain Drag II, new work by June Glasson. The exhibition will continue through December 5th, 2020. Visions West Contemporary is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 am - 5:30 pm and is free to the public.
June Glasson is a native New Yorker who became fascinated by the idea and cultural interpretations of the Western “Mountain Man” after transplanting to Wyoming. Her first series of Mountain Drag was created in Wyoming on paper with white backgrounds and presents women dressed in trapper gear turning traditional Western gender roles on their heads. Her newest series, Mountain Drag II, finds Glasson’s work being created back in her New York studio and her paintings continuing to explore the ideas of the “Mountain Men” of the West now on panels with oil paint and intense backgrounds of brightly saturated colors.
