“Good Bones” is a full length dance theater work that takes place at a housewarming party of an aging starlet named Amelia. Over an evening filled with performative gloating and tours of spaces to be renovated, Amelia accidentally reveals just desperately trapped she is in her own home. Her family is slowly distancing themselves, her friends are always whispering behind her back, and all the while Amelia feels compelled to play the same role she’s always played: the perfect hostess. Insecurity punctures her internal narrative, revealing sharp weakness in Amelia’s outward persona. She hallucinates that the house around her appears to be changing, the walls are closing in, the shag rug is slowly consuming her feet. She wonders if she’s not in a house at all, but the belly of a giant wolf.
