I make colorful, abstract, encaustic wax monotypes. What’s a monotype? In my case it means painting with beeswax and pigment on a heated metal plate, then laying down a sheet of paper to absorb the design. My inspiration is the natural world—both seen and unseen. My hope is to convey how art is a bridge that connects us with something larger than ourselves, and encourages us to realize that we are never alone.
